All the abuse I was succumbed to did not define me. As a young lady I faced abuse from my surroundings and at the age of 13, I was raped. I went through a long journey of healing until I was able to gain my pride and voice back. I realized early on that what defines me as a person is how I perceive myself. I could have allowed myself to stay voiceless and be someone who was not capable of having strength. But no, no matter what negative things are said about you if you don't take it to heart it will never be.I told myself that I have the power to change my situation if I believed that I am able to achieve anything. Allowing hopelessness to creep in is giving power to the abusers, you can enable them by keeping quiet, being submissive, and giving in to fear. Take back your power and see what the universe has in store for you. Things will only change for the best and you will surely know your worth.
