Parenting or child upbringing is the process of promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social, financial, and intellectual development of a child from infancy to adulthood. And the best period for commencement of the upbringing or training is the childhood. The lives of the clergy are that they look after the lives of others and if care is not taken, could have detrimental effect on their own families. Hence, Eli and Samuel as a case study in this study were busy with their ministerial works to detriment of their families. In the light of the foregoing, this study thus investigates the effectiveness of child upbringing of the clergymen in view of the ministerial demand and the societal expectation from them. So, the first objective of the study was to investigate why some spiritually sound ministers succeed in their ministries but fail at the home front. This study also seeks to ascertain how ministerial demands and challenges affect clergymen families and proper children upbringing. Similarly, the study determined the extent to which the clergy relate with and have time to know about their children and finally, this study aimed at investigating the ways in which the clergy's ministerial challenges have impacts on their children.
