Take Your Thorn and Thrive With It

As a trained musician for over 50 years, I learned to pay close attention to the lyrics of many songwriters, especially gospel and Christian. As a result, I hear the emphasis being placed on wanting the Lord to deal with the agonies, discouragements, heartbreaks, and disappointments in our lives by substituting them with breakthroughs, deliverances, healings, and blessings.Every person will find some area of their life where they struggle to overcome something daily. The Apostle Paul referred to his struggle as a thorn in his flesh. When Paul prayed three times for the removal of his pain, he was asking God for a substitution: "Give me health instead of sickness, deliverance instead of pain and weakness." Sometimes, God does meet the need by substitution. However, at other times He meets the need by transformation. He does not remove the affliction, but He gives us His grace so that the affliction works for us and not against us.The writing of this book is the result of a strong unction of God on my heart and mind to research the Word of God and other godly writers on the subject of dealing with the struggles of life. Then to compile these divine concepts and principles and make them available to those who want to better understand what God intends for us as we embark on this journey of life that He has laid out for us to victoriously walk.
