To have a spiritual life with purpose you have to assimilate a daily discipline to read the Bible, reflect on the lessons that the Holy Spirit transmits to you, think about reasons for gratitude and prayer, define goals and develop a plan for their accomplishment. This is the foundation of spiritual growth.Goals are important. They take you to the place where you want to be. In a study conducted by Harvard University to its students, they found that only 3% of them had written goals and an action plan. When they were contacted ten years later, they were successful people in what they did and lived the fulfillment of their goals. Many people do not set goals because they have not yet accepted personal responsibility for their lives. They fear failure and success. Because of this, they live in mediocrity.Setting specific objectives (goals) at the spiritual level is a powerful exercise. The prophet Habakuk wrote about it: And the Lord said to me: "Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry." Hab. 2:2-3 RVC What is the vision for your spiritual life? How do you want it to be?
