Prayer is sacrosanct to the spiritual upkeep of every true Christian. Mentoring His disciples in Luke 18:1, the Lord Jesus made it emphatically clear to twelve that the alternative to prayer isn't just prayerlessness, spiritual apathy. Reading through Scripture, it is obvious that nothing significant ever takes place in the life of any Christian or God-fearing community except there's someone who activates their priesthood mantle and devotes themselves earnestly to prayer and meditation.God's Word and His prophecies in the Bible become manifest in our lives only when we pray. God personally revealed to me that our devotion to prayer is a personal vow we must always fulfil. Prayer must be constant, sincere, regular and passionate. The Bible says the fervent, effectual prayer of a righteous person avails much. In other words, you can decide to attend every single church service in a year, and participate in all the church events and activities, keeping all of God's commandments and even fellowship with the brethren to get each person to intercede for you, but unless you combine all the above with prayer, it may not avail much in the end. It is prayer, and nothing else, that adds dimensions to your life and ministry as a servant of God.Finally, it is vital to bear in mind that although we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. In other words, we are have not been designated priests or kings of the letter, but of the spirit. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but spiritual. We are not living souls, but new creatures in Christ Jesus our Lord who is a quickening Spirit!
