Rules are broken in wonderful ways and restructured to serve this piece on its own terms. Technically speaking, the chapters themselves are also well thought out and well paced. They each have sensible places to stop and places to move on from that flow beautifully into the action or dialogue of the next chapter beyond it. Compelling and pulling dialogue throughout almost each scene guides the reader along the side of the interesting and well developed characters on their respective journeys. The vast and detailed statements of scenery map out rich visuals for the audience without forgetting about the characters within that landscape. The characters themselves are vividly detailed as well, and so they are quite easy to remember as the reader shapes the image of each in his or her own mind. Reading, in this sense, becomes much like watching a film, because the audience knows exactly what is being shown at any given time, while still maintaining that written flair and grace.
