In general, Humanity as a whole has lost their connection to others, the Natural World and themselves because we are overly engaged in the material and technological worlds. The understanding that there is a natural order to all things and a state of balance that must exist, was known and accepted knowledge just a few hundred years ago by those that came before us. This understanding, this way of being, is where we must return to so that we can move forward with the wisdom needed to create a world, and a life, that are in balance.
