My name is Benjamin Romeo Massie! Dymonds and I have a message.

Society has painted a detailed picture concerning black fathers in the hood. It shows that, fathers aren't fathers, but guys who just want to have sex with random women and end up getting them pregnant, then leaving them stranded. It shows that, despite the school-to-prison pipeline statistics, children in the low-income communities are better off without a father figure. It shows and approves of the deterioration of the Black Family Unit and Fatherhood.

This picture that has lasted for so long has become deeply rooted and crafted into the very character of our society. Are the children of the low-income communities really better off without their fathers? Do the men who helped create them really care?

As a witness, researcher, advocate and a father, my book offers a different painted picture. One that has been significantly ignored in society yet holds true. One that shines a light on the effects and emotions of us as fathers and men. Many not being able to be there physically because of prison, yet are there emotionally, morally, intellectually and spiritually. One that shows just how important our children are to us, and us, as men, coming into the realization of this. Why? Because it will save lives, time, money, pain and it will provide valuable information.
