Author has given us a gift of Christmas stories told about, or through the eyes of, Latvian immigrants to the U.S. It's delightful to learn the customs of this small Baltic state, which has so often been overshadowed and/or invaded by larger countries. The fictionalized stories are entertaining and suitable to read aloud to children as well as to give to middle-grade readers.
