This book was birthed out of the author's personal experience as well as the experience shared by other women in ministry, particularly through the author's counselling experience. It was not designed to undermine the leadership of men but rather to build the self esteem of women as they work alongside men to carry out the mandate given by God from the very beginning of His Creation. The concept of man was used in Genesis in referring to both the male and the female species (see Genesis 1:27)."God created man in His own image...male and female He created them." Both were mandated with social, cultural and spiritual responsibilities.

This book begins with the personal experience of the author to highlight the fact that the situation is a realistic one, very current and allows for the reader to understand that the author can empathise with the situation. The argument continues with some theological responses to the topic and is discussed through tracing it back to the historical development of the state of affairs and linking it to developments in the biblical examples portrayed by Jesus Christ the liberator who expressed, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." (Luke 4:18-19). Women were among the oppressed class.

The book ends with the current situation, and women are motivated to build their esteem in working with men to carry out the assigned mandate to build the Kingdom of God and ignore the unwritten status quo. The essence is that the paradigm has shifted, even if some persons have not shifted with it.
