Helping Hands: The old, dusty road
Not so far away stands the vestige, a resting place, or way station known as Holy Gospel Church.

Those who worshiped there in the past and today are no more special than you and I. Yet, through their love and care, many a tired and disillusioned soul has found a place of rest for a time before moving on.

This first collection of twelve stories is about five souls who worshipped and served at Holy Gospel Church. None of them thought or believed they were perfect in any sense of the word. This realization came from their living every day.

Without a doubt, God's saving grace flowed through the souls of Holy Gospel Church, which helped many weary travelers continue along the old, dusty road. In leaving, they carried a renewed spirit of hope and love that hopefully remained with the rest of their lives. By the Lord Jesus Christ's strength and grace, the congregation was and still is being helped along that same road of salvation.

As for the building, it is a blessing, a miracle that anyone can find the building. Peacefully nestled near the end of the old, dusty road, it sits back, partially hidden by a grove of pine trees. All that one can see of the church is its steeple and the cross sitting on top, peaking over the branches.

But God is good as well as patient. When it appears that someone is about to move off the old, dusty road or about to pass it by, He touches them, causing a stirring within their very soul.

For that precise reason, the building's cross is purposely turned away from its front. Instead, it is facing toward a well-groomed main road a short distance away. Those caught by the sight of the simple cross rising above the tree line can't help but slow down, even for a moment and contemplate what they are missing.
