Who's Gonna Drive You Home?

When Cyndi Krause was just a little girl, she was brutally picked on because of how she looked. With her brown skin, slanted Asian eyes, two tight braids and very thick glasses, the children in her mostly white town thought she was strange. Once she entered high school, the bullying escalated and created a whirlwind of unexpected events. During her sophomore year, she would learn more about life and good friends. During the next 8 years, Cyndi would spend her time healing her emotional wounds and finding peace within herself. In a series of scenes, Who's Gonna Drive You Home chronicles teen living from a young girl's perspective and her search for identity and belonging in a small town world of racial displacement. From the mostly caucasian community of small town South Amherst to the racially integrated family that she grew up in, Cyndi tries to make sense of and navigate the dichotomy of her multicultural family life into which she was born and the counterculture lifestyle she inherited. A bittersweet tale of friendship, Who's Gonna Drive You Home, is a coming-of-age story of hope, loss, and healing. It is also a story of the unconditional love between two best friends and how that love helped a young girl to grow and flourish against the odds of her high school journey.
