Bread of Adversity

Opening in a medieval town in the French countryside during World War II, Bread of Adversity follows a misfit family struggling to survive the bloodiest war the world has yet seen. Mederic, a Jew with a mind full of ghosts; Auri, a baker's daughter with a blood-stained past; and Rose, a protector of beauty, among others, unite to quietly resist the tyranny of Germany's rapidly spreading political regime, and to plant seeds of hope for a future that they're not certain they will even live to see.

Bread of Adversity explores love in its various forms, illuminating how love simultaneously strengthens and destroys the people wrapped up in it... and how love is irreversibly intertwined with pain and grief.
