The Prayers of a Zombie: Voices from the Horde

John Deiter is living in a post-zombie apocalyptic world. He has a secret. This secret draws him to get as close as possible to zombies, sometimes dangerously close as John tries to find answers. The "Prayers of a Zombie" is not about John Deiters's story. It's about the zombies he encouters, and they do have a story to tell.

He discovers he has a unique ability to hear their true voices above the growling and guttural sounds. Their voices are often in direct contrast to their horrific actions. What he hears startles him. Zombies pray.

The quest for answers about his own existence and his new ability to hear the pleas of the undead take him on a journey to discover something that will restore what he has lost.

John Deiters shares pages from his journal. He uncovers the inner lives of the zombies he encounters while on a journey to learn hidden truths about himself.

John shares what he has learned while recording these prayers. Although he submits no interpretation for any prayer, he is decidedly not a theologian; he does give some indication of many of the zombie's environments and activities.

What these zombie prayers reveal about zombies and humanity both in the wake of a zombie apocalypse and in the pre-apocalyptic world will change lives, but will it change his?
