What is this world becoming?!! Many parents are concerned about the influence of the world upon their kids today. Many evils can take them captive: drugs, alcohol, sexual identity, bullying, sexting, teen sex, teen pregnancy, pornography, violence, social media, school indoctrinations and the list goes on.
Is this a terrible time to be raising kids? Peter said that "the devil prowls around, seeking someone to devour". Jesus said that the devil is like a thief who comes to "steal and kill and destroy" our lives. That's a pretty scary thought for parents--raising children in this evil world. But consider that the devil's been around since Adam and Eve. Raising children to walk righteously has always been a challenging battle for good versus evil.
Is it worse today? We have more power over evil today. Jesus has given us his power over the devil and his world. We now have what it takes to be victorious in this evil world. But we must know what Jesus has provided for us, and we must apply his power to our lives, particularly in how we raise our children. If we had been living in this power for the past few hundred years, the devil would not be reigning in our children's lives today. It is not too late! Learn what you can do as a parent.
