Eric wrote them to entertain his grandchildren during the covid-19 pandemic lockdowns from November 2020 to March 2021 when schools were closed and many children had to do their lessons at home. Wally Wheelbarrow never went anywhere without his wheelbarrow which was very fortunate on the day he met the Queen.
