The Journey: Transcendence Attracting in Schubert's Songs of a Wanderer

The Journey explores the ascent of a wanderer, everyman, toward a better world. The journey is facilitated by unique epistemological understandings of life that have a rich history and found important expression in German genius 200 years ago. This genius reached a highpoint in the art of Franz Schubert, most notably in his major instrumental compositions, epic works each of which was inspired by poetry.
