The Mystery of the Old Bones
$12.59
A young girl goes missing in the mid-eighteen hundreds.
Many years later in 1894, Lady Grace Darlington, a widow takes her usual morning walk in Baluain Forest in Perthshire, close to where she lives at Baytree Manor. She stumbles across some old bones that her dog is frantically digging up. She calls the local Sheriff, who cordons off the area. After three months, Sheriff Angus Jameson cannot solve the mystery of the old bones and the case is closed.
Some thirty-six years on, a young couple, Thomas and Rosie Anderson go for a picnic on a beautiful summer's day and take a walk in the woods with their two sons, Michael and Samuel. Rosie sits on some old bones and wonders if they are animal or human. Thomas speaks to James Patterson, County Sheriff for Perth and Kinross. He instructs his deputy, Ross Sinclair to arrange for the bones to be sent to the forensic lab, where they eventually discover a connection to other bones that were found in a similar place in 1894.
The case that Angus Jameson closed is now re-opened and a new inquiry is launched, which reveals some vital information that both shocks and scandalises the local community.
