Murder in Sonora: A Young Adult Suspense Novel

Eighteen year old Velvet Shepard arrives at the Guaymas, Mexico airport, excited at her first trip to Mexico without her parents. Her family has had a home for several years in the fun but quiet resort town of San Carlos, Sonora at the edge of the beautiful Sea of Cortez. She arrives two days ahead of a group of her five closest friends, including her recently engaged fiance'. She is excited to spend two weeks with her friends Scuba Diving, boating, fishing, hiking, horseback riding and checking out all the restaurants and bars in San Carlos.

As soon as she arrives at their home, she learns that not everything is as she expected. The yard is not cared for as carefully as their gardener had guaranteed over the years. Then an unknown, and somewhat scary man shows up to take care of the yard and take care of her. She does not know what that means, "take care of her".

At the same time, a woman her age and size and likeness, is found murdered and her bod is washed up at the marina. Shortly after, another woman if similar looks if found murdered and buried in a shallow grave up the trail near her favorite beach. All of a sudden, by the time her friends arrive, she finds herself and her friends are in danger on a daily basis. This, then casts a shadow on all of their planned adventures on and deep into the beautiful Sea of Cortez. It now puts the discovery of the danger into the hands of Velvet and her friends.

The group of three couples goes out in search of adventures daily: getting certified as SCUBA divers and doing their certification dive, horseback riding, taking their boat with the entire group out to the beautiful San Pedro Island, visiting all the beautiful shops, hotels and cantinas. In the midst of all this, they are forced to keep from being violently killed.

It pulls them all together as they unknowingly build the friendships within the group.
