On Christmas Eve 1987, David's fianc? died in a tragic car accident while driving home to see her parents. The next day while working in the Chow Hall of the USMC Infantry Training School, he was approached by fellow marines. The three marines were shocked to see something, in red, suddenly appear on his forehead. After studying the marking for a few seconds, one of the marines identified it, and said, "It's the Star of David!" Pain, suffering, and agony seemed to be connected intimately to his life. From an abusive father to an extremely toxic marriage, life seemed pointless. To him, life was nothing more than a series of miserable events, you die, and then you're judged. For much of his lifetime, he prayed to God for his own death. Finally, David began writing letters in an attempt to understand why he was ever born, and what (if any) was the Lord's purpose was for his life. Jesus has placed a special anointing over David's life, which was consecrated by the appearance of the "Star of David," on his forehead. This celestial blessing was meant to enable him to unveil God's will for Christians. But this gift has adverse effect, in which Satan can speak into David's mind. Demonic forces try to tempt him into committing suicide though dark thoughts. Things like; nobody loves you (especially God), you should never have been born, the people around you suffer because of your existence, your prayers aren't working, drive off the road into a concrete pillar, hang yourself, or shoot yourself in the head with a pistol. Decide, for yourself, if David's memoir is truly a spiritual blessing from God.
