Three Plays by Elise Hanson: Award-winning Comedy One Acts

The three works in this collection were written by Elise C. Hanson and presented at the Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival as one-act productions. Uninhabitable first aired as a 10-minute piece at the 24-Hour Play Festival and, as an audience favorite, appeared later at a gala event for The Box theater and then was commissioned as a full-length piece retaining the original cast and director.

3 Drag Queens Defuse a Bomb at a Talk Show and My Gay Baptism were both recipients of awards at the Fringe Festival. My Gay Baptism, coming out during the quarantine of 2020, was performed as a pre-recorded piece and won "Best Pre-recorded Production." 3 Drag Queens saw audiences return a year later and won "Best of Fringe" and "Miss Congeniality" (highest audience attendance).

All three are heightened, absurdist comedies with vivid characters and sizzling dialogue. They are perfectly set up for practical production, competition pieces, and any event where lots of laughs are just the ticket.
