Mortimer is banished to exile--in a far corner of Kentucky--for losing the island Cairnisle and its inhabitants in some void of space and time. Soon, it is clear that this was just a precursor to Mortimer's accumulating blunders!

Things get "hairy" as the Little'uns scurry about, conducting reconnaissance missions for their Wizard Mortimer . . . spying on the rural farmers and their families' activities. Then, hairier, when the vortex in Mortimer's cave malfunctions, allowing processions of a horrific and hungry species from another universe to escape from his cave to infest the very land the farmers and their families are settled. These beasties are grotesque, giant spiders, topped with the head of a great lion, bearing large, menacing spider-fangs.

Follow Mortimer as he desperately tries to correct and remedy the mayhem resulting from his blunders. To cease the culminating madness ensuing at Loopback Ridge, Wizard Mortimer must make some weighty decisions. His decisions will alter everything about the lives and futures for all those unlucky enough to stumble into one of the Great Immortal Wizard Mortimer's follies.
