Rye is a new student. He's a new student in a new town at a new high school... and he's openly gay. Rye Lynn Baker is a smart-ass who's into parkour and partying and suffers from severe anxiety. His family suddenly moved from a poor rural Republican town to the affluent Los Gatos hills, and Rye is thrust into Bay Area high society. On his first day at Lakeview, Rye attracts controversy by hurrying to fit in with the rich and popular crowd. He tries to make them like him... and he royally fails. Rye realizes that high school is fake AF, because nobody is genuine. He vows to become a better person and never tell another lie. So Rye decides he must handwrite a detailed apology letter to a mysterious "you"... because Rye did something terrible, something he is totally not proud of, something that he must apologize for. And Rye desperately hopes that "you" will forgive him... so he doesn't lose his reputation and the love of his life forever.
