Moving is never easy, but immigrating to a new country twice was the biggest challenge of Rosamaria's life. In her memoir, Rosamaria's Memories, she explores the political and familial reasons for moving from her birth country of Nicaragua to Honduras, then later to the United States. The Sandinista political turmoil, the financial struggles of her father's business, and her own goals of becoming an English teacher formed the basis of Rosamaria's desire to live in the US. Through the emotional and personal struggle of finding a new home, Rosamaria gained a greater appreciation for family, friends, and change. Ultimately, her community-in the form of her coworkers, siblings, and children-taught her how to lead a fulfilling life. No matter where she may live, Rosamaria's home is with the people who guide, advise, and love her.
