The "Professor" (as he is known to his fellow homeless friends) is an unusual drunk. He's managed to remain functional, groomed to a degree, and refers to himself as an urban camper. But make no mistake, like many of his fellow campers, the Professor has a past that he likes to distance himself from. He does that by keeping a low profile, which keeps him out of the public eye, and by consuming large quantities of alcohol, which keeps him out of his mind's eye.
Joanne Hope is a Pulitzer nominated journalist. She's worked very hard in a male dominated profession and has made some sacrifices along the way. Wielding her femininity to her advantage, she wheedles information from law enforcement and others to doggedly pursue her latest story.
