Seventy-three percent of those who establish fitness goals for themselves give up before they succeed. It was simply too difficult for them to keep to the workout regimen, according to 42% of those who give up.
Despite knowing that exercise is essential to living a long and healthy life, boosting everything from heart health and happiness to brain function, we still give up. Additionally, people who incorporate exercise into their daily routine are more likely to lose weight and keep it off in the long run.
Why do we find it so difficult to maintain a regular workout schedule, then?
The issue with our conception of exercise is that we believe it must be taxing, include lengthy sessions at the gym, and necessitate getting out of bed at the crack of dawn to run before work.
That is just false. Now, all we need to do is stand up and move around.
This problem has a remedy, and it doesn't involve spending hours at the gym or forcing yourself to get out of bed at dawn to go for a run before work.
We only need to make walking a habit to solve the problem.
