Deadly Vacation: a mystery

Douglas Markham had moved to Los Angeles to live with his daughter after the murderer of his wife had been arrested, leaving behind his friends at the Teton County Mystery Writers Club. They all missed him, especially Tess, who had fallen in love with him. He had told her he didn't think he would ever marry again, but she still holds out hope. She has been working with a personal trainer, who has put her on a rigid diet/exercise program and she has lost a substantial amount of weight.
When Colleen tells the group that Doug is coming back to Jackson in August for a vacation, Tess is overjoyed. Colleen invites the whole group over to her house for dinner the night he arrives and they are all anxiously awaiting his arrival.
But Doug does not come alone. He brings along his new wife. Tess is devastated and cries her heart out. She does not even want to meet the new wife.
A few days later the club holds their annual summer party. Tess attends but avoids Doug. However, Doug's wife approaches her with understanding and the two have a conversation.
The next morning, Doug says he has an errand to run and borrows Will's car. He never returns. The car is found parked in front of Tess's house, but Doug is not in it. His body is later found in a parking lot some blocks away.
Tess's nephew, homicide detective Roger Elliott, is out of town, so his partner, Lyle Soames, is in charge of the investigation. He doesn't like Tess any more than she likes him, so he gleefully arrests her for Doug's murder, even though there is no real evidence (par for the course for Lyle).
Now the Teton County Mystery Writers Club has a new murder to solve. How long will it take them to find the real killer and get Tess out of jail? And will Tess make peace with Doug's new widow?
