Exploring Endangered Languages: Northeast India

According to UNESCO, nearly a third of 7000 languages spoken around the world are endangered. More than 15% of all languages have less than 1000 speakers. With each language that goes extinct, humanity loses a bit of its rich history. To learn more about these languages and to do his part to spread awareness, Sohum Sukhatankar set out on a journey one summer across three states in Northeast India. Join him as he encounters a melting pot of people and cultures in this remote part of the world where dozens of endangered languages are spoken. While efforts are being made by the younger generation to revive languages in some instances, the preservation of endangered languages in
