CDs versus Bonds: The Battle for Your Hard-Earned Cash

The first step to becoming an investor is earning interest on your savings. There are many ways to save; you need only learn them.

Banks offer certificates of deposit in terms of 1-month to two years (or more). However, these aren't long-term investment vehicles.

You can purchase Treasury and Series "I" Bonds for up to 30 years; however, the FDIC does not protect your principle.

Both investments have pros and cons, and you can't go wrong with either. I prefer Treasury Bonds over CDs because I love locking in rates for 30 years. But don't let me influence your decisions. Good Luck!
