My Special Uncle J

Created and inspired by the relationship between my autistic brother and my toddler son, this lighthearted story scratches the surface on neurodivergence.

Told through the eyes of a protective young nephew who aims to translate and normalize his uncle's behaviors, this narrative underscores that it is never too early, or too late, to display compassion. Explaining many of his uncle's behaviors with warmth and humor, the narrator offers a glimpse into the autistic mind and shares valuable insights into how different nervous systems may work.

Too often, society demands conformity rather than allowing space for neurodivergent minds to flourish. This personal anecdote opens the door for an important conversation to be had and sets out to help friends and family learn to navigate a loved one's special language.
