One afternoon, Duckie is restless and fidgety; she wants to travel but doesn't know where. Then she visits her best friend Skye, and they agree to fly to Long Beach Island. Duckie and Skye follow a pod of northbound dolphins to Long Beach Island. Hoverer, the dolphins veer farther into the Atlantic Ocean, leaving Duckie and Skye lost. Suddenly an egret (Talent Scout) appears and successfully guides them to Long Beach Island. Then Duckie discovers a neighboring island, Beach Island, across Barnegat Bay. When they arrive, Talent Scout introduces Duckie and Skye to Blues-Baritone, a blue heron and a choir director who desperately needs two substitute singers in the Avian Wildlife Chorus. At first, both Duckie and Skye are reluctant to accept Blues-Baritone's offer. Finally, however, they agree to an audition. The audition was successful, and they rehearsed their parts. That evening, the concert was a success, and Duckie and Skye received a standing ovation. Duckie and Skye are very proud of their accomplishments at the concert's end. Finally, Duckie and Skye plan to fly northbound to Sand Hook Lighthouse.
