Mercedes' heart is broken once she finds out that Jermaine has been injured while locked up in jail. She decides to put their differences aside for the sake of their daughter and visits him in the hospital. To her dismay, she finds him fighting for his life, leading her to question why someone would want to harm him. She becomes determined to uncover the truth behind his situation.

Tori is frustrated that Jermaine's family has welcomed Mercedes despite her past mistakes, but not her. After confronting Mercedes about this disparity, she's hit with a gut punch rude awakening and begins to imagine what life might be like with Mercedes gone.
