Through It All: Based On A True Story

Things were somewhat if not very different in the decade of the 1940's. Joyce Howell was a young girl with a lot of responsibility.
At an early age, Joyce was inspired to write a book about her life. One sunny day at age 16, she sat with her mother and told her that she was going to get some kind of profession; so that if she got married and had kids, she would be able to take care of them on her own, if her husband chose to act a fool.
Shortly thereafter, her mother was bedridden with rheumatoid arthritis. She was only able to move her head. Everything else on her body was paralyzed. In this experience, she obtained good work habits, compassion, management, empathy, and good decision-making skills.
This led her through trials, tribulations, and positive choices, which allowed her to move ahead in life at such an early age.
