There's Something In Your Hand: ...Dare To Discover It

When God called Moses to go and deliver the children of Israel from captivity in Egypt, Moses only knew what he did not have that were needed for the assignment. Moses thought it was fluency and oratory skill which he was not endowed with that he needed to succeed on the assignment. Many people today murmur and complain about the abilities and opportunities they believe they do not have and the abilities and opportunities others have, instead of appreciating God for what they have.
But to put Moses right God asked him a very simple question, "What is that in thine hand? And he said, 'A rod'. Just like Moses, I ask you the same question today. What is in your hand? Forget about what God has deposited in other people, concentrate on what God has decorated your own life with. Are you so busy concentrating on the gifts and callings of other people, making unnecessary comparisons thereby losing sight of what God has deposited right inside you?
Then Moses answered and said, "a rod". Obviously Moses did not seem to understand that the rod had any relevance to this assignment. What is that thing you have that you are despising? There is something in your hand, deposited by God to change your world. Moses needed no other thing to carry out his assignment. All he needed was settled. The rod is in his hand. Should I tell you something? There is a rod in your hand. Dare to discover it.
