Halving Hall has a terrible secret.
On the night of Halloween, a cursed door in the north corridor of the building lures people to its location with a bright yellow hue, inviting them to enter through it.
Some of them who foolishly take up its offer never return.
Others who do come back cannot remember what happened to them during their time away.
In 1642, the Lord's six-year-old daughter Millie Holforth became its first victim, entering through the door, never to be seen again.
With the passing of years, other victims were lost to its alluring charms.
A young pregnant servant girl in 1850 was forced through the door and woke up to find herself twenty-five years in the future.
Confronting the person who had made her go through it against her will, she was then branded a lunatic and subsequentially carted off to the local asylum to be incarcerated forever with her child.
In 1982, a teenager who moved to the town of Great Halving and started at a new school not only made a best friend but also made the mistake of falling for a boy who was not entirely what he seemed.
Although these individuals' lives span a period of over three hundred years, each will find that their stories will eventually converge together and tell yet another tale in the pages of 'The Yellow Door Chronicles'.
