The Country Cop: A Tank Dodge Crime Story

$17.57

The body of a young man is discovered by his father hanging from a tree outside a shearing shed on the outskirts of the old silver mining village of Denison in the Central West of New South Wales. His fingers have been removed, and his body disembowelled. The sergeant of the nearby town, Rutherglen, is also the father of Detective Inspector Jonathon 'Tank' Dodge from the Southern Police Station in Sydney. The body is found on the property owned by Tank's grandparents and managed by Tank's brother.

Tank takes a small crew to his old hometown to help investigate the murder. After arriving, Tank and his detectives discover more secrets in the sleepy country town, including a drug syndicate involving the Irish mob. Murders, allegations of rape, meth labs and illegal tobacco crops are just some of the crimes that Tank, and the team come up against.

When the promising career of a senior constable from Rutherglen is cut short after he is abducted and murdered, the heads of the N.S.W. police department demand answers, and Tank needs to discover them fast. With the help of his computer analyst, Ned Paterson, his new wife, Katie Dodge and his father Sergeant Jack Dodge, the team play a game of cat and mouse with not only the university friends of the murder victim but the ex-cons that run the drug trade.
