In the sleepy town of Clearwater, people are dying for a little charm.

Lilliann "Lillie" King returned to her hometown after being left at the altar by her three-year fianc? for one of her best friends, a thing she never thought she'd do. During her first week in town, she stops in the local bookstore to see an old friend, who gives her a gift of a book that is oddly spooky.

The book is spooky, and filled with spells, hexes, jinxes, and a history she never knew. Even with her left long love of horror, nothing has prepared her for this. She goes back to ask him about the book, only to find his lifeless body on the floor.

As Lillie continues to get thrown into the murder investigation, finding out information that puts her smack dab in the middle, even though none of it makes sense to her. Lillie's life is on the line as she is faced with her history in a way that she was never ready to discover.

Can she discover the person behind the murder, solving her part in it, or is she doomed to a more terrifying fate?
