Dave Nicklaus, The First Knight of the Offset, has spent more than a year fighting The HallowWitch. Now that she's been truly destroyed, he can return to caring for his cat and controlling his PTSD - or can he? A dark entity known as The Shadowman has escaped the Offset and has begun murdering humans in cold blood, just as he did over 100 years ago. As The Knight, Dave is charged with tracking down the Entity and returning him to the Offset.

But, Dave is lost. He has no idea how an Entity such as Shadowman could escape the Offset, let alone where to look to find him or how to return him - and keep him there - even if he did! With the start of a New Year only hours away, and his PTSD acting up, Dave knows the time is short. Can he find a murdering psychopath that no one else can see and imprison him before time runs out for humanity? Before death comes to them all, including Dave, himself?
