Pretty Girl: Don't water yourself down

Evie was so incredibly confused and shattered and broken in that moment, all she could do was find comfort in the fire and the colors that she saw in the flames. Over and over, he whispered "You're so pretty", "pretty girl".
For the entirety of her life, she will never forget the smell of alcohol on his breath, the embers of the fire burning brightly, the feeling of his rough, uninvited hands on her virgin skin, and the relentless whispers... "you're such a pretty girl".

Evie snapped awake and shuddered at the awful memory.
She was on her way to Europe to start anew.
"It can't get much worse than this, right?" she thought, wavering slightly in her insecurities.
