Renoir's Revenge

J. C. Madden is a thirty something former soldier and intelligence analyst who has moved to NYC to head security for a luxury boutique hotel on the Upper East Side. Her best friend, Camilla Kessler, works for the Luxury Hotel Association in public relations. Together they investigate the murder of a hotel guest who was an art collector and financial maven.

Renoir's Revenge has its origin in a true story of financial fraud in the art world. With additional motives of fake provenance, marital infidelity and jealousy, the suspects keep piling up. NYPD Detective Steve Riordan requests J. C.'s help as a witness. He tries to limit her involvement in his case while underestimating her curiosity and tenacity. Together, J.C. and Cam interview hotel guests, associates and family members of the victim, as well as others in the small world of exclusive art dealers. Sorting it all out requires intelligence, bravery and a bit of luck.
