Cas never expected to be standing alone in the Louisville airport baggage claim with only a backpack and pocket change to her name. But after stumbling on evidence of her boyfriend's criminal activity, she takes the first flight out of Chicago, hoping to find refuge with her last trusted friend.

As her plans fall apart, an old bourbon baron mistakes Cas for his deployed son's bride-to-be. She soon finds herself faking a fairy tale romance in the Kentucky countryside with the wealthy Westfall family, awaiting the return of their son, the battle-hardened Lieutenant Lock Westfall.
