A Vet, Two Babies and a colt called Makulu

A Vet, Two Babies and a colt called Makulu
A delightful and dramatic African saga that tenderly but frankly explores the adventures of a vet in the African bushveld. Set in Bulawayo between 1948 and 1952 this novel explores a range of earthy adventures, inconsolable losses, and new romances.
The first book, 'A Vet, Three Mares and a hound named Max', traced the mingled destinies of men and horses that escaped from Poland during the Second World War and eked out an existence in 1940s Rhodesia. This, the second book in the trilogy, 'A Vet, Two Babies and a colt called Makulu', continues the saga into the 1950s.
Set in Bulawayo between 1948 and 1952 this novel explores adventures ranging from cattle ranching, horse breeding, show jumping, pap and gravy to skinny dipping, castrating bulls, tiger fishing, khaki shorts, pish-pashes, safari suits, the smell of wet dust, posh visits to England, inconsolable losses, and new romances.
