A Father's Daughter

A Father's Daughter
About The Book
This poetry book covers the ugliest and darkest parts of the grieving process. Each poem conveys the different stages and how inconsistent the process is. One second, you've accepted it, then another second, you're right back to denial. You watch as the narrator tries to familiarize herself with her father being gone while also going through phases of anger, denial, depression, and acceptance. How does she heal? What helps her?
About The Author
I'm Laney Leighanne. I grew up in the South Houston area until high school, when I moved to Longview, Texas, and graduated. I now attend college and play college softball in Arkansas. After losing my father in my junior year of high school, it was hard for me to want to continue pushing forward. I began writing poetry to help myself cope. This is when I began to be able to recognize my emotions and put things into words. Poetry saved my life.
