Jar of Fireflies

Jar of Fireflies is the author's collection of poetry that allows the reader to follow her journey through a loss of innocence and tragic heartbreak until she finds someone to help her release that jar of fireflies she had locked away for so long.

"The little man with horns makes his way into my dreams at night;
he makes me quiver.
I want to run, to escape,
but there are some nights that I can't pretend.
Memories of my childhood haunt me like a spirit.
I'm trapped in his hands.
He has me under his control.
Searing icy blue eyes stare into mine.
Even now, I still feel scared.
Maybe one day, I'll be able to escape."
