A Widow's Heart... A Widow's Journey

"To everything there is a season...A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time grieve and a time to dance..." Life happens and like seasons things change. Up one day and down another. In one day and out on another.

I remember when I began praying to God, "Lord please send me a husband." My request didn't seem out of order, at least not to me. I thought I'd been a "good" Christ follower and deserved to have a life partner, a companion, someone to love who would love me in return. I met Richard and several years later we married thinking we had found that fairy tale love we dreamed of and would live our happily ever after, but what happened, life happened. I woke up one day and I was a widow.

Even though there may have been setbacks, I'm here to say almost eight years later God has kept me. My world changed in an instant and I'm still getting used to my new normal. One thing I can attest to is that grief is real, and we all handle it differently. One day at a time sweet Jesus that's all I'm asking of you.
