Aly was only 15 years old when a life changing car accident left her with the supernatural ability to see ghosts. Now sixteen, she has gotten good at navigating a world where the dead intermingle among the living. For the most part, Aly has successfully ignored her ability and focused on her regular teenage problems, like crushing on her best friends older brother. But just as summer break approaches, things start to change.

After a run in at the town library, Aly finds herself haunted by the presence of an elderly ghost. No matter where she goes- the library, her bedroom, the school hallway- Aly can't seem to escape the desperate ghost. It isn't long before she realizes that if she wants to go back to ignoring her ability, she must help the ghost find what they're looking for. In an attempt to get rid of the ghost for good, Aly and her best friend, Evelyn, enlist on a risky mission sneaking into the town library after hours. Already plagued by mysterious nightmares and taunted by the popular girl in school, Aly must find a way to balance her own problems with the problems of the dead.
