Kingdom Psalms

Kingdom Psalms, is written to introduce the reader to an accurate picture of Christ's kingdom as portrayed in a very special group of Psalms. The twenty-three Psalms appearing here were chosen because they describe the earth as it will be in the coming age of the kingdom. They describe the completed state of the kingdom, not the process involved in getting there. Thus, no Psalms are included that describe the Psalmist asking for help, lamenting the evil of their current generation, or seeking a clean heart or forgiveness of sins. While these experiences may do much good in shaping and forming the God seeker to become a more fit vessel for Christ, a description of these challenges is not the goal of this book. From the perspective of the Psalms chosen here, all has been done. Studying the kingdom in this way will show where things will eventually arrive at and where we are going. They highlight the place of Christ, the believers, Israel, the nations, and even all created things in the coming kingdom. The poetry makes the kingdom descriptions especially beautiful and compelling. Knowing the kingdom unveiled in these Psalms will help us understand what we are seeking to enter, so that we all might be better equipped to follow Paul's sober instruction, "Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God" (Acts 14:22).
