Naughty children get taken away. Noelle's aunt always reminds her of that. Noelle fears that one day she'll be too naughty, and the child stealers will carry her away in their painted wagons. When her fear comes true, it's not quite in the way that she expects, and the journey isn't quite what Noelle expects either.
