Surviving an attempt on his life, Senator Nate Tourneur becomes embroiled in an imminent attack on the United States via a case of international intrigue.

Tourneur sets out to chase leads on a mystery woman's ties to violent extremists and wield that intel to confront his foes head-on. He is kept alive by counterintelligence agent Pilar Cruz, whose questions suggest she doubts his motives and whose mercurial use of force challenges his cool composure.
