They were but a few steps away from the entrance to the hotel when Annie was stopped dead in her tracks by a blood-curdling scream. It seemed to be coming from somewhere above them, gaining in volume.

Annie looked at Mike, her expression one of shock and surpirse. She took another look at the corpse. It was only when she turned to Mike for the second time that she found her voice.
